Level 1 - Starting Out - An introduction to dog training using positive reinforcement and operant conditioning. Learn how to teach your dog to accept handling without nipping/biting, no jumping, leave it, accept a greeting, sit, down, walk nicely, come when called (recall), and more. Puppies can start as young as 10 to 12 weeks. Requirements to move on to Level 2 - Dog can sit & down on cue a minimum of 3 out of 5 times with mild distractions. Dog will respond readily to his name a minimum of 3 out of 5 times with mild distractions.

Level 2 - Courteous Canine - Continue to build your relationship with your dog, motivate and cultivate your dog's enthusiasm to be engaged with you. Strengthen the skills learned in Level 1; sit and down stays building on distance and time away from your dog. Walk nicely & come when called (recall) around other dogs. Requirements to move on to Level 3 - Dog must walk nicely on a loose lead (no pulling) around other dogs that are 4 to 5 feet away. Come when Called with mild distractions.

Level 3 - No Distracted Dogs - Work on getting your dog to respond when it counts, when there are distractions around. Long distance Comes, Stay with distractions, Heeling & distance commands. Safety techniques will be taught to get you and your dog prepared for the unexpected. Requirements to move on to Level 4 - Dog must stay for 30 seconds in a sit and down with medium distractions, Dog will walk past other dogs with the lead draped over owner's shoulder, Come from 20 feet away with medium distractions.

Level 4 - Very Clever Canine - Work outdoors continuing to get your dog to respond when it counts, when there are distractions around. Polish Come when Called, Heel off lead, Strengthen Stay skill (longer time, more distance), Turns, Automatic sits, Stand, Obedience finishes. Graduate - Heel off lead past other dogs (inside), Heel with lead draped over owner's shoulder past other dogs (outside), Sit stay 2 minutes & Down stay 5 minutes with owner 10 feet away, Come when Called off lead from a distance of 30 feet (inside), Come when Called off lead from a distance of 10 feet (outside).

 All dogs must be up to date on vaccinations, vaccine information is required  at the Orientation Night or on the first night of classes. The Bordetella vaccine for Kennel Cough is strongly recomended. It is also adviseable to have proof of a negative stool sample or recent deworming before coming to classes. (If your dog frequents the local dog parks they are at risk for contracting worms)

 Once a class has started NO refunds will be issued, credits towards another class will be offered.

 If you miss a class, NO PROBLEM, just attend the very next class at your Level picking up where you left off, this is the bonus of Flex-Dog Training - you will never miss material, or forfeit any classes for any reason. (See Benefits of Flex-Dog Training).
